Contract Services is a multi-disciplinary contracting and maintenance company founded in 2005 with a focus on delivering quality services at competitive prices. The company has grown from a single maintenance engineer to a workforce of around 120 people, operating globally across electrical, mechanical, building, cladding, and air-conditioning trades.
Additional expertise includes ground works, roofing, flooring and ceilings, maintenance, interior design, and office layouts and furniture supply. Contract Services prides itself on a dedicated team whose commitment and professionalism ensure clients’ needs are met efficiently.

Role Description
The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Belfast. This role is responsible for preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for projects across multiple trades, ensuring accurate financial planning and control.

The Quantity Surveyor will manage tender submissions, analyze contractor and supplier quotations, and assist in contract negotiations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring project costs, valuing work completed, preparing interim and final accounts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

The role also involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, maintaining clear documentation, and supporting the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Candidates should possess strong skills in preparing bills of quantities and tender documentation.
- Contract Administration and Commercial Management: Familiarity with standard construction contracts and change/variation management is necessary.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and assess project risks and opportunities.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with project teams, suppliers, and clients and present clear cost reports.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Educational Background: Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (degree or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
- Practical Experience: Experience in construction, maintenance, or building services environments, especially across multiple trades, will be advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in standard QS and office software (e.g., Excel, estimating tools) and a solid understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance are desirable.
