About the Company:
Hill McGlynn Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established and growing residential house builder seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Kings Hill.

The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple residential developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Initially, you will oversee two live developments, with one project at the procurement stage and another approaching completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing residential developments from procurement through to final account
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, and cost reports
  • Procuring subcontractors and negotiating packages
  • Managing subcontractor payments and final accounts
  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations
  • Pricing variations and managing change control
  • Forecasting project costs and monitoring budgets
  • Liaising with site teams, clients, and suppliers
  • Carrying out regular site visits across Kent, Sussex, and Surrey
  • Supporting the successful commercial delivery of multiple developments simultaneously

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a residential house builder or developer
  • Experience managing housing developments of 30+ units
  • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish, including taking over live schemes
  • Previous experience working for both a residential developer and a main contractor
  • Experience delivering traditional housing or low-rise apartment developments (not high-rise steel frame)
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
