We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist construction contractor delivering complex projects within the nuclear, industrial, infrastructure, and commercial sectors.
The business has an excellent reputation for delivering technically demanding construction and engineering projects in highly regulated environments. Working closely with major clients across the UK, they are recognised for their commitment to safety, quality, innovation, and collaborative project delivery. With a significant pipeline of work at Hinkley Point, this is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced commercial team on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a major package of works at Hinkley Point, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and the wider commercial team, you will manage all contractual and financial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute individual who enjoys working on technically challenging construction projects within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of construction packages from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare and manage subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, and procurement.
- Administer subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
- Prepare applications for payment and client valuations.
- Manage variations, compensation events, and change control.
- Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
- Support Project Managers with commercial advice and financial reporting.
- Attend client, subcontractor, and commercial meetings.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and commercial procedures.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to maximise project performance and profitability.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or specialist construction environment.
- Strong commercial knowledge across major construction, infrastructure, industrial, or nuclear projects.
- Experience administering NEC contracts is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of procurement, valuations, cost reporting, change management, and final accounts.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to work independently while supporting wider project delivery teams.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments would be advantageous.

Essential Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
- Current Hinkley Point Security Clearance (essential) – applicants must already hold valid site clearance and be able to start immediately.
