Location: UK Wide / Hybrid (South Wales base with potential nationwide project travel)
Salary: £65-£75k+ Package (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering high-value projects across the UK power and utilities sector.
This is a commercially important role within a fast-paced project environment, supporting the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure works including substations, grid connections, renewable energy schemes, and industrial power projects.
The successful candidate will take ownership of commercial management across multiple live projects, ensuring cost control, accurate forecasting, and strong contractual management from tender through to final account.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial and financial management of project delivery, working closely with operational teams, project managers, and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities Include
Managing cost control across multiple live projects Preparing, reviewing, and managing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts Procurement and management of subcontractor packages Reviewing and managing contract terms, variations, and change control Supporting tendering and pricing activities where required Monitoring project budgets, forecasting, and cash flow Identifying commercial risks and opportunities across projects Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams Ensuring accurate commercial reporting and financial documentation Supporting dispute resolution and contractual negotiations when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial awareness and proven experience working within construction, engineering, utilities, or infrastructure environments. xlqdzyr
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, electrical, or infrastructure sectors Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC, JCT or similar) Experience managing subcontractor packages and procurement processes Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage cost, risk, and change effectively Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong IT and reporting skills (Excel and commercial management systems)

Desirable
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management Membership or working towards RICS (not essential but advantageous) Experience within HV electrical, utilities, or energy projects
