Where you'll work?
You'll be part of a team that build and refurbish substations on projects across the East of England.
Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in keeping the commercial side of your projects on track. You’ll work closely with teams across Operations, Finance and Procurement to make sure everything is delivered smoothly, while keeping a strong handle on costs, contracts and commercial controls. You’ll be part of a wider team including QSs, Commercial Admins, Procurement and Finance - all working together to deliver the best outcomes for your projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
Owning valuations and applications for payment - making sure everything’s accurate and submitted on time Managing NEC contracts day-to-day, including early warnings, compensation events, and notices Keeping a close eye on cashflow, costs, and margins to protect project performance Working with ops, finance, and procurement to keep everything running smoothly Handling client queries, disputes, and payment issues professionally and proactively Managing the supply chain - from onboarding to payments and final accounts Producing and presenting CVRs and forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities Keeping records, reports, and commercial data clean, compliant, and up to date Supporting and guiding junior team members where needed

What You’ll Bring
Around 3+ years’ experience in a QS/commercial role within construction or infrastructure Solid NEC contract knowledge Confidence managing valuations, CVRs, and subcontractor accounts Strong commercial mindset with an eye for detail, risk, and opportunity Great communication skills - able to build relationships and handle challenges Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Good Excel and general IT skills A proactive, organised approach and willingness to take ownership Full UK driving licence
