Role Description
This full-time Quantity Surveyor role is a hybrid position, primarily based in Cwmbran with some flexibility for work from home. The Quantity Surveyor will:
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Support tendering processes
- Assist in pricing and evaluating contracts
- Monitor project costs
- Update cost plans
- Prepare interim and final valuations
- Produce cost reports for internal stakeholders and clients

- Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and housing association clients
- Ensuring financial control, value for money, and compliance with contractual requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement of cost management procedures
- Supporting accurate forecasting for ongoing and future projects
Qualifications
- Strong cost control and cost management skills, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets
- Experience in cost planning and cost reporting to support accurate forecasting and clear communication of financial performance
- Practical knowledge of BOQ preparation and measurement to support tenders, valuations, and contract administration
- Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications and quantity surveying or cost management software
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Knowledge of UK construction standards, contracts, and procurement practices; experience with social housing or maintenance works is an advantage
