Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering role available!

Location: Northampton (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £55,000 - £59,000 + Excellent Package
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence Required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 specialist civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established commercial team, working on high-profile civil engineering schemes while benefiting from a hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience within the civil engineering sector and a thorough understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the commercial performance of civil engineering projects from commencement through to final account.
  • Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and change management.
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
  • Managing subcontract procurement, payments and final accounts.
  • Producing accurate cost forecasts, CVRs and financial reporting.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability.
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and contract administration.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring commercial compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts is essential.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or specialist civil engineering contractor is highly desirable.
  • Excellent commercial, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
