Quantity Surveyor
Location: London
Salary: Competitive + Package
PSR Solutions are working in partnership with a highly regarded London-based main contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction and fit-out projects across London and the South East, working with a diverse portfolio of clients across the commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, education, and mixed-use sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with experience across both main contracting and fit-out projects.

The Role
Reporting to a Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
The successful candidate will have experience working on both traditional construction and fit-out projects and will be confident managing all commercial aspects of projects ranging in value and complexity.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of construction and fit-out projects from inception through to final account.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender analysis, negotiation, and contract award.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability and mitigate commercial risk.
- Assess and manage variations, change control, and contractual claims.
- Produce accurate monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure commercial objectives align with programme and operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
- Support the Commercial Manager in ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering both construction/build and fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of standard forms of contract, including JCT.
- Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills.
- Strong negotiation and subcontractor management experience.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
