Key Responsibilities
The role is operator-facing in a high-performing team, responsible for commercial and contractual performance.
Contract Administration & NEC Management
- Manage commercial contracts, procurement, and negotiations under NEC4 framework.
- Lead post-contract activities: payment approvals, cost assessments, contract variations, and dispute resolution.
- Oversee payments, variations, and tender price auditing through NEC-driven communication.
Quantum & Cost Control
- Scrutinise cost reports, forecasts, and interim payment applications.
- Prepare project cost data, performance metrics, and change orders.
- Produce progress reports and financial summaries for strategic decisions.
Procurement & Contractor Engagement
- Advise on tender strategies, prepare documentation, and conduct competitive bid evaluations.
- Generate tender lists, bid requests, and efficient negotiations.
- Collaborate with project managers on early warning notifications, instructions, and amendments.
Stakeholder & Commercial Engagement
- Embed data-driven cost awareness throughout projects.
- Represent the business in documented commercial debates, tender reviews, and contract settlements.
- Ensure alignment with Organisational SOX requirements (where applicable).
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
🔹 Technical Expertise:
- Experienced Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator (or qualified through apprenticeship & relevant experience).
- Proven track record in large-scale infrastructure projects (buildings, highways, utilities, transport).
- Deep knowledge of NEC4 contracts and commercial frameworks.

📚 Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Progressing towards (or holding) Chartered membership (e.g., RIBA, MRICS, MR-shad)
