Quantity Surveyor (Brickwork Packages) – Maidstone, Kent

Salary
£50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hill McGlynn is partnering with a well-established bricklaying subcontractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their growing commercial team based in Maidstone.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially savvy Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in brickwork packages to join a successful subcontractor delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the South East.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial management of multiple brickwork packages from pre-construction to final account. Collaborating with operational and commercial teams, you will drive profitability while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of brickwork packages from inception to completion
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Measure works and compile cost reports
- Manage subcontractor accounts and procurement where necessary
- Identify, price, and negotiate variations
- Monitor project costs and predict financial performance
- Liaise with site teams, clients, and suppliers to align with commercial goals
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Essen3tial experience managing bricklaying/brickwork packages
- Strong grasp of subcontractor commercial management
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Full UK driving licence
