Quantity Surveyor - Buckinghamshire

The Opportunity
Expanded Structures are the specialist reinforced concrete basement, sub and superstructure frame construction division of Laing O'Rourke and are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Buckinghamshire, supporting the major redevelopment of HMP Grendon.
This capital programme will modernise and expand the estate, driving long-term improvements in rehabilitation, safety, and operational performance while offering the chance to play a key role in a high-profile, complex project with lasting impact.
What will the Quantity Surveyor role look like?
- All Commercial duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.
- Assist with preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.
- Management and reporting of monthly costs.
- Draft, manage and settle subcontracts, with assistance.
- Preparation, agreement, maintenance and filing of records.
- Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action.
- Assisting in preparation of claims.
- Identifying change and administering change control process.
- Assisting with the preparation of final account, including pricing.
- Drafting and preparation of weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information and monthly contract review reports.
- Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project.

What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Degree (or higher) qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- RICS membership is desirable, though not essential.
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
- Experience in direct delivery environments, supporting projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
