Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyor – Refurbishment & Construction
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays)

About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral part of a small team, partnering with the Commercial Manager and Company Director to:
- Tender, scope, and deliver projects from procurement to completion.
- Bring Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor experience to support growth.
- Provide high-level financial management and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end commercial oversight to ensure projects remain financially viable throughout their lifecycle.
- Lead tender submissions, analysing pricing, developing winning bid strategies, and refining proposals.
- Oversee change management processes, ensuring variations are assessed, agreed, and documented accurately.
- Manage contract documentation and obligations, ensuring all parties comply with agreed terms.
- Provide strategic cost advice to inform decision-making across projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Monitor project performance against budgets, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
- Attend site visits as required.
- Champion health and safety compliance and best practices across projects.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to internal systems and procedures.
- Conduct detailed measurements and take-offs from technical drawings and specifications.
- Support the selection and onboarding of subcontractors and suppliers through structured evaluation.
Requirements
- 10 years’ experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors (essential).
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (essential).
- Proven experience in refurbishment projects, preferably within healthcare or care homes.
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
- Background in procurement, tendering, and contract strategy.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive financial decisions.
- Excellent clear communication (written and verbal).
- Proven ability to manage the entire project lifecycle effectively.

Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary up to £65,000 (based on experience).

- Mileage allowance for business-related travel.
