A long-established and highly respected construction contractor, specialising in:

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position offers the chance to manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects—from tendering through to final account settlement.
A fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor seeking stability, long-term prospects, and hands-on experience in major infrastructure projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Project Commercial Management
- Oversee the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts to ensure profitability.

Procurement & Contracts
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
- Handle contractual compliance and change control, including variations, compensation events, and NEC/JCT contractual obligations.

Financial & Operational Oversight
- Monitor project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate accurate cost reports and commercial updates for senior management.
- Assist in tendering and pricing of new works.

Stakeholder Relations
- Work closely with operational teams to align projects with budget and practical delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements
To be the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Industry Experience
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in:
- Construction, civil engineering, earthworks
- Infrastructure, aggregates, highways or heavy plant
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in:

Contractual & Technical Knowledge
- Strong working under NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Proficiency in commercial negotiation, subcontractor management, and variation control.

Skills & Tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with commercial reporting systems.

Qualifications & Licences
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or related field) (preferred).
- Full UK driving licence.
