Quantity Surveyor

Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on various projects across the Edinburgh region, due to high profile project wins.


What you will be doing:

  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Cost Management and Reporting: Provide accurate information to site teams and commercial managers, prepare monthly internal values, and monitor the construction budget.
  • Change Management: Maintain the change register, manage change control procedures, and ensure contract variations are submitted in accordance with the contract.
  • Procurement: Oversee subcontractor procurement and administration, and manage subcontract orders and payments.
  • Contractual Compliance and Risk Management: Review risk registers, address potential issues, and monitor financial implications. Ensure compliance with contractual responsibilities.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Manage resources efficiently, support the operations team with contract correspondence, and mentor assistant quantity surveyors.
  • Innovation: Work closely with the business to integrate commercial activities and drive continuous improvement.

What you will bring:

  • Degree-qualified (HNC/Degree qualified) in Quantity Surveying or a related business discipline.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Acute attention to detail and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in creating cost reports and CVRs.
  • Proficiency in a range of IT systems.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor.
  • Professional qualifications or membership in RICS (or another relevant Chartered Institute) is a plus.
