About The Role…

As a growing business we are looking for two professional Quantity Surveyors to join our fantastic Commercial team. You will support with the development, implementation and management of all commercial activities and controls, taking ownership for the implementation of the group commercial strategy for the business unit you are assigned to. Ultimately, helping to maximise the profitability of the business unit whilst ensuring the Ipsum values are upheld. This is a full-time permanent role based from our Wakefield office.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will…

Manage contract/project performance including CVR reviews.

Review contracts and support with mitigating risk.

Report on and challenge performance for project cashflows and profitability.

Subcontractor management.

Preparation and review of subcontract documents and assessment of quotations for onboarding.

Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices.

Assess and value variations and compensation events.

Support the Commercial Manager with ad hoc projects and continuous improvement of business processes.

Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts.

Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client.

Be actively involved with tenders and pricing.

Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects.

About You…

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar commercial role and a relevant degree, with progress toward a professional qualification (e.g. ICES or RICS) advantageous but not essential. You’ll possess strong knowledge of commercial contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and be confident managing full project commercial cycles, including tendering, CVRs, WIP, reforecasting and change control. Highly analytical and commercially astute, you will communicate effectively, work autonomously across multiple projects, and demonstrate how your work supports wider business objectives while upholding Ipsum’s values of Safety, Service and Specialist.
