The Opportunity
Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting an Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Bridgend.
We have been appointed as construction partner for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, which forms part of a supply chain framework that will also support infrastructure projects beyond 2030.
- All Commercial duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.
- Assist with preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.
- Management and reporting of monthly costs
- Draft, manage and settle subcontracts, with assistance
- Preparation, agreement, maintenance and filing of records.
- Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
- Assisting in preparation of claims.
- Identifying change and administering change control process
- Assisting with the preparation of final account, including pricing.
- Drafting and preparation of weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information and monthly contract review reports.
- Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project

What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in power or major infrastructure projects.
- RICS membership (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
- A drive to learn and grow to the next grade.
