  • Act as part of the commercial team overseeing multiple programmes and projects, fostering a unified team culture.
  • Maintain rigorous adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability (HSE&S) standards.

  • Develop and implement project-specific commercial/contract strategies.
  • Support cost forecasting and build-ups for assigned projects.
  • Assist in supplier/sub-contractor appointments, including negotiations and contract agreements.
  • Prepare and submit monthly payment applications to clients, ensuring contract cash flow remains healthy.
  • Provide cost backups and reconciliations for payments.
  • Monitor and challenge change control with project delivery teams.
  • Evaluate sub-contractor payment claims, process certificates, and finalise commercial settlements.
  • Generate monthly earned value reports, tracking cost accruals, progress, cash flow, and costs to completion.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements/contracts to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
  • Support contractual issue resolution within delivery teams.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes, geopolitical risks, and weather impacts affecting project delivery and assist teams in protective measures.
  • Analyse risks and opportunities arising from cost or programme variations.
  • Build trust-based relationships with client-side and joint-venture commercial leads.
  • Collaborate with teams on final account reconciliations and engage with clients/JVs for dispute resolution.
  • Escalate disputes to the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director as necessary.
  • Contribute to industry-leading team development through lessons learned and process improvements.
  • Operate autonomously with initiative when required.
  • Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) in industry standards and technology.
  • Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
