Quantity Surveyor

Location: Milton Keynes (with regional travel)
Salary: £45,000 to £58,000 + Car Allowance & Package

I'm working with a well-established and growing traffic management contractor that is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Milton Keynes.

The business delivers a wide range of traffic management and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients across the South East, East Midlands and East of England. With a strong order book, continued investment and ambitious growth plans, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business where you'll have genuine opportunities to develop your career.

Working alongside an experienced commercial and operational team, you'll support the commercial management of multiple projects from contract award through to final account. The role offers plenty of variety, exposure to NEC contracts and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for supporting the commercial delivery of a diverse portfolio of contracts, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the commercial management of projects from contract award through to final account
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and compensation events/variations
  • Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts to maximise commercial performance
  • Assisting with the preparation of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and other commercial reporting
  • Procuring and commercially managing subcontractors and suppliers
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities while providing practical commercial advice to operational teams
  • Supporting negotiations and assisting with the agreement of final accounts

About You

We're keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have experience working within highways, traffic management, utilities, infrastructure or the wider civil engineering sector.

You'll ideally have previous Quantity Surveying experience gained within highways, traffic management, utilities or a wider civil engineering environment. Experience administering NEC contracts and managing subcontractor accounts would be highly beneficial, although applicants looking to build on existing commercial experience are encouraged to apply.
