Quantity Surveyor
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Salary: Competitive + Package
A leading well-established main contractor based in Newmarket is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team. The company delivers new build construction projects across the housing, healthcare, education, equestrian, industrial, and commercial sectors throughout Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas.
The Role
Working closely with the Commercial and Operations teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful financial delivery of multiple projects. The position will involve a combination of office-based work and regular site visits across Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse project costings, including materials, labour, quantities, and programme requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
- Manage project costs, valuations, and subcontractor payments.
- Produce cash flow forecasts and monitor project financial performance.
- Monitor site progress against programme and identify potential issues.
- Identify and manage commercial risks.
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations.
- Monitor payments from main contractors.
- Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Advise on procurement strategies and project scheduling.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Produce progress reports and analyse project outcomes.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts.

Requirements
- HND, BSc, or MSc in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-related software.
- Full UK driving licence.
