Quantity Surveyor - Residential Developer

Hill McGlynn is proud to be partnering with a well-established residential developer in their search for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team, based out of their Sittingbourne office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute QS to join a growing developer delivering high-quality residential schemes. You'll play a key role in managing project costs and ensuring developments are delivered efficiently and within budget.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of residential developments from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to maintain financial control across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Supporting tendering and cost planning processes
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to programme
  • Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and senior management

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a residential environment
  • Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Strong understanding of cost control and contract administration
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Experience working on flats/apartments is highly desirable
