Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Plymouth. The Quantity Surveyor will manage project costs from initial feasibility through to final account, ensuring value for money and adherence to budget.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Preparing and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Supporting cost planning
- Monitoring cost control and reporting
- Assisting with tender preparation and evaluation
The role involves working closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to track variations, manage valuations, and support contract administration. The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to commercial risk management, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure projects are delivered in line with company standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong cost management capabilities, including Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Planning skills.
- Ability to prepare and manage BOQ and related documentation for façade, property, and energy projects.
- Proficiency in Cost Reporting, including periodic financial updates, forecasts, and final accounts.
- Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or building refurbishment environments.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial risk management.
- Competence with industry-standard estimating and cost management software, and MS Office tools.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with site teams and stakeholders, and manage multiple projects.
- Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is beneficial.
