Quantity Surveyor

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to develop their career within a supportive and experienced business.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from inception through to final account. Working alongside Project Managers and Site Teams, you will ensure projects are delivered commercially, contractually, and financially in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration and management of NEC4 contracts
- Preparation, submission, and agreement of applications, valuations, compensation events, and final accounts
- Measurement and valuation of works
- Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget management
- Subcontract procurement and commercial management
- Preparation and management of contractual correspondence
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
- Supporting continuous improvement within the commercial department

Essential Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience working under NEC4 contracts
- Strong knowledge and experience of measurement within civil engineering projects
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A positive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to undertake site travel where applicable
- Competent use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Desirable Experience
Additional advantages include:
- Experience using CEMAR contract management software
- Experience using FastDraft communication software
- Previous experience within the civil engineering sector
- A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
