Job Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor
An established and growing construction and development contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. With a strong pipeline of projects across the residential, education, healthcare, care, and commercial sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that values collaboration, quality, and long-term career development.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced project and commercial teams, managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs and budgets to ensure commercial success.
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Procuring subcontractors and managing tender processes.
- Negotiating subcontract agreements and assessing variations.
- Monitoring project expenditure and producing accurate cost forecasts.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Administering subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to achieve successful project delivery.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction procurement.
- Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- A proactive, organized, and solutions-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
