About the Role

As our Quarry Operative, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency across our quarry sites, ensuring plant machinery is operated safely and effectively while providing valuable support to the wider team.


Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Operate fixed and mobile plant (e.g., dumpers, loading shovels, 360 excavators) under the guidance of the Quarry Manager, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient performance.
  • Carry out repair and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant to sustain longevity and operational readiness.
  • Provide cover for the Foreman or Weighbridge Operator in their absence, ensuring seamless site operations.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous experience using mobile plant (dumpers, loading shovels, 360 excavators) in a similar environment, including certified tickets.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a quarry setting with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Desirable:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Site Plant Operations (SPMO)
  • Mechanical knowledge of mobile plant and machinery.
  • Awareness of Quarry Regulations 1999 and adherence to industry safety standards.
