Position Summary
Support the Marketing and Communications Team at CSU’s Transportation Department to provide information to students, faculty, staff and visitors on parking, transit, biking, fleet vehicle rental and micromobility. The ideal candidate will have an interest in creating content for digital formats and excellent written communication skills. As a Communications Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, creative environment and will gain experience in a variety of marketing media.

Required Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva, as evidenced by prior work, coursework, or professional projects.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, as shown through application materials and prior roles.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support departmental events.

Preferred Job Qualifications
- Academic experience in communications, journalism, marketing, sustainability, finance.
- Experience creating social media and/or other promotional content for an organization.
- Related graduate-level coursework or training in a related field.
Essential Duties
- Compile internal department updates to distribute to staff.
- Format reports, presentations and other department documents to institutional design standards.
- Create content for web, email and event calendar entries.
- Editing website content and building new pages.
- Create compelling marketing materials to promote department events and campaigns, including social media posts, digital screen graphics, and other print projects.
- Conduct benchmarking research to find best practices at other universities and in the private sector.
- Work with multiple vendors, acting as the primary point of contact and managing these relationships.
- Regularly write for SOURCE and contribute to other projects as they arise.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
