Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in our Glasgow or Perth office
Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
The Role
At SSE, safety is at the heart of everything we do. As our R2R Finance Manager, you'll play a key leadership role within our centralised Record to Report (R2R) Centre of Excellence, guiding a team of finance professionals to deliver accurate, reliable and insightful financial information. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how finance supports the business, champion continuous improvement, and build strong relationships across a broad stakeholder network. You'll create an inclusive and collaborative environment where people can thrive, develop their capabilities and deliver excellent outcomes together.
You Will
- Lead the delivery of month-end activities, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Provide oversight of key financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and governance activities, ensuring compliance with Group policies and reporting standards.
- Manage year-end audit activities and coordinate the preparation of required disclosures within your process area.
- Coach, support and develop a team of finance specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous learning.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and enhance efficiency, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and risk management.

You Have
- A professional accounting qualification (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or significant relevant experience within a finance environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information, understand the bigger picture and make sound judgements.
- Experience leading, developing and supporting teams, creating an inclusive environment where people feel valued and empowered.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement, implementing new ideas and enhancing financial processes or ways of working.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared goals.
