Radiation Dosimetrist (Records Manager/Electronic Dosimetry Systems Manager)

To work on the technical aspects of dosimetry, giving technical input, supervising technical issues. Advising clients on dosimetry.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Database management for Approved Dosimetry Record Keeping Service (RKS) including updating of software and database as required
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR
  • Training / supervision of staff working with the RKS to cover database management
  • Advice, training and troubleshooting for database systems used for ordering dosemeters
  • Liaison/trouble shooting with supplier
  • Ensures that the dosimetry services meet HSE requirements and comply with Statements of Service
  • Management of database systems/software for External Dosimetry Based on Electronic Dosemeters

Reporting Line

Reports to Team Leader or Dosimetry Service Manager or ADS Head.

Key Accountabilities

  • Organises own work.
  • Able to problem solve and adapt systems to resolve issues.
  • Able to advise other team members.
  • Works with SADS team for resolution of issues relating to software for RKS and Electronic Dosimetry system.

Personal Qualities

  • Organised, accurate, timely.
  • Able to instruct, make decisions, communicate well.

Educational

5 years of experience or relevant degree at honours level

Job Role

  • The Radiation Dosimetrist (Records Manager/Electronic Dosimetry Systems Manager)
  • Understand relational databases
  • Understand SQL coding for data extraction
  • Fault find in relational databases / SQL coding
  • Be able to direct programmers in the context of fault resolution
  • Be able to direct programmers in the context of database development
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases and associated products.
  • Be an expert in GDPR
  • Good understanding of data systems protection
  • Experience in an ADS Record Keeping Service, with expertise on RADS part 3.
  • Knowledge of RADS part 1.
  • Be able to organise and plan the operation of data transfers, production of reports with members of the dosimetry team.
  • Ensure data / system integrity
  • Will need to become familiar with the Nuvia RKS operations.
  • Will need to become familiar with the Nuvia Electronic Dosimetry System (NED).
  • Manage user accounts on the RKS and NED including access management.
  • Support RKS team.
  • Support NED team.
  • Deputise for the ADS Head.
  • Be part of the on call team for WB TLDs readout.
