As a Consultant Radiation Oncologist, you will:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Medical Oncology, Haematology, Surgery, and Palliative Care)
  • Provide advanced cancer treatment using modern radiotherapy technologies
  • Follow evidence-based care pathways
  • Contribute to care in both metropolitan and regional centres

Key Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and manage oncology patients requiring radiotherapy:

  • Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary cancer meetings
  • Contribute to teaching, research, and clinical governance
  • Support service development and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Specialist qualification (one of the following, or equivalent):
    • FRCR (Clinical Oncology)
    • FRANZCR
    • American/Canadian Board Certification
  • Eligible for specialist registration in Australia
  • Experience at a tertiary cancer centre or teaching hospital is preferred
  • UK-trained Clinical Oncologists encouraged to apply
