As a Consultant Radiation Oncologist, you will:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Medical Oncology, Haematology, Surgery, and Palliative Care)
- Provide advanced cancer treatment using modern radiotherapy technologies
- Follow evidence-based care pathways
- Contribute to care in both metropolitan and regional centres
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage oncology patients requiring radiotherapy:
- Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary cancer meetings
- Contribute to teaching, research, and clinical governance
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Specialist qualification (one of the following, or equivalent):
- FRCR (Clinical Oncology)
- FRANZCR
- American/Canadian Board Certification
- Eligible for specialist registration in Australia
- Experience at a tertiary cancer centre or teaching hospital is preferred
- UK-trained Clinical Oncologists encouraged to apply
