We are actively seeking an Aeronautical RF Consultant to join a global Aviation company based in Dorset. The role is fully remote with infrequent travel to Dorset a couple of times a month.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out a detailed assessment of the potential impact of unintended, spurious and out-of-band RF emissions on safety-critical radio communication systems.
- Oversee ground-based RF testing, analyse the results, and present findings from aircraft system emissions testing carried out at an approved UK test location where free-space transmissions are permitted.
- Assess the risk of interference to protected aviation spectrum, with particular focus on the Aeronautical Mobile (R) Service (AM(R)S) and Aeronautical Radio navigation Service (ARNS), where interference could affect flight safety.
- Evaluate the potential impact on civil Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems, including both airborne and ground-based equipment operating within protected aeronautical frequency bands.
- Assess the potential impact on other internationally recognised safety-of-life radio systems, including the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), maritime radio navigation services, and other protected terrestrial and space-based systems defined by the ITU Radio Regulations.
- Produce technical analysis and recommend mitigation measures to demonstrate that the aircraft's mission system will not cause harmful interference, in line with ITU Radio Regulations and relevant ITU-R Recommendations.
- Assess and mitigate unintended RF transmissions from the mission system across its full potential transmission frequency range.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
