Salary
Up to £25.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training, and qualification)

A Radiographer (Bank) is required to support their Imaging department, working on an on-call basis to cover busy periods, annual leave, and staff absences.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties, including:
- Conducting a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobile imaging) in accordance with referrals and imaging protocols.
- Ensuring high-quality images are produced to facilitate accurate diagnoses while minimising repeat exposures.
- Adapting techniques for special patient groups, such as:
- Paediatrics
- Bariatrics
- Patients with limited mobility
- Providing a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout examinations.
- Monitoring patients’ conditions during procedures and taking appropriate action if deterioration is detected.
- Checking and maintaining equipment safely, reporting any faults promptly to ensure operational efficiency.
- Assisting with the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, including digital systems (PACS, RIS).
- Collaborating effectively with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to ensure smooth patient care and workflow.

Requirements
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography (or an equivalent qualification).
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of:
- IR(ME)R regulations
- Health and safety
- Infection control
- Patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- (Desirable) Postgraduate experience or additional training in specialist areas, such as:
- CT scanning
- MRI
- Theatre imaging
- Mammography
