Location: Circle Reading Hospital Type: Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £28.00 per hour (depending on experience, training, and qualification)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Radiographer to join the Imaging Department on a banked basis as needed.
This is an on-call/bank role, requiring flexible support to cover busy periods, annual leave, or staff absences. You will supplement the team during high demand and ensure seamless patient flow through the department.
Key Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, including:
- General X-rays
- Theatre radiography
- Fluoroscopy
- Mobile radiographic services
- Follow referral protocols and ensure optimal imaging standards

Produce high-quality images while minimising the need for repeat exposures, supporting accurate diagnosis

Adapt techniques to ensure patient-centred care for:
- Paediatric patients
- Bariatric (large-sized) patients
- Patients with limited mobility

Provide a safe, dignified, and reassuring experience for all patients, ensuring informed consent and comfort during examinations

Continually monitor patient condition, responding promptly to signs of distress or deterioration

Maintain equipment safety and functionality, including routine checks and reporting faults

Collaborate with new imaging technologies, including:
- Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
- Radiology Information Systems (RIS)

Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and administration teams to coordinate efficient patient pathways
Applicant Criteria
To apply for this role, candidates must meet the following:
- A BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
- Proven experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment handling
Desirable but not mandatory:
- Postgraduate certification or specialist training in areas such as:
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Theatre radiography (fluorescent) imaging
- Mammography

- In-depth knowledge of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and data protection (patient confidentiality)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Patient-centred approach prioritising dignity and reassurance
