Job Summary
We are seeking a Radiology Department Assistant (Band 2, £25,272) for a developmental role.
- Role status: Full-time or part-time
- Contract type: Permanent
- Progression: Starts at Band 2, transitions to Band 3 upon successful completion of training
- Location: Acute hospitals and community sites (including Gosport, Fareham, and Petersfield)

Role Responsibilities
- Provide care and support to patients across diagnostic and interventional radiology services within a multi-disciplinary team
- Support Sonographers/Radiographers in:
- Preparing patients for imaging procedures
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety during exams
- Reassuring patients during anxious moments
- Assisting with post-procedure care
- Facilitating a smooth and efficient imaging experience
- Maintain patient safety, high standards of care, and a positive patient experience across all interactions—with patients, families, and colleagues
- Consistently work within your competence level and adhere to National Health and Safety policies
- Collaborate effectively with:
- Patients, service users, and carers
- Registered and non-registered healthcare professionals
- Social care staff, administration, management, and non-clinical teams
Essential & Desirable Qualifications
Essential
✔ GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in English & Maths ✔ ICT skills (ability to use digital tools and software) ✔ Determination to deliver compassionate, hands-on patient care in a hospital environment ✔ Valid driving licence or reliable transport access (due to working at community sites)

✅ Alternative to an NVQ Level 2 in Care or a relevant field ✅ Articulation in expressing thoughts and ideas ✅ Strong educational background ✅ Knowledge of the NHS and its core values
