Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Radiology Assistant to join our hardworking Radiology Department team.

As a key member of our imaging service, you'll play an important role in supporting patients through every stage of their diagnostic journey. Whether you're helping someone prepare for an examination, offering reassurance during a visit, or supporting the clinical team behind the scenes, your contribution helps ensure our patients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

About The Role

As a Radiology Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of the imaging department while helping to deliver an excellent experience for every patient who attends the hospital.

You'll work closely with radiographers, radiologists, nurses, and administrative colleagues, ensuring patients feel welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. Your support will be essential in maintaining efficient clinical workflows and helping the team deliver high-quality diagnostic services.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the imaging team in delivering outstanding patient care and service
  • Welcome, prepare, and assist patients attending imaging appointments
  • Assist with patient movement, positioning, comfort, and dignity during examinations
  • Monitor patients and promptly report any concerns or changes in condition
  • Support radiographers and other clinical colleagues during imaging procedures
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including appointment coordination and patient documentation
  • Ensure clinical areas are clean, organised, and ready for patient use
  • Maintain accurate records in line with hospital policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the safe and effective running of the Radiology Department
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support excellent clinical outcomes

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or within a similar clinical support role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate and caring approach to patient care
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and reassuring in a busy healthcare environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team
  • Flexible and reliable with a proactive approach to work
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable)
  • Cannulation experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care, safety, and service excellence

Contract: Permanent

Days/Hours: Full Time – between, Monday - Sunday 08:00 - 20:00
