Role: Radiology Department Assistant

Location: The London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Shift times: 7.5 hour shifts between 08:00 and 20:00

Permanent Salary: Competitive dependent on skills and experience, plus fantastic benefits including private healthcare.


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiology Department Assistant to join our Imaging team at The London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

Rated as 'outstanding' by the CQC, the London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City and Canary Wharf.

As a Radiology Department Assistant, you will support our Imaging team across London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients, working flexibly across a range of services including women's health, breast, gynaecology and general ultrasound clinics. You'll assist Consultants, Radiographers and Nurses during examinations and procedures, prepare and support patients throughout their visit, manage appointments and registrations using Meditech, utilise PACS, and undertake a variety of administrative duties.

This is a rotational role requiring adaptability, strong teamwork and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience working as a Radiology Department Assistant within a hospital setting
  • Essential experience supporting ultrasound services, including women's health and/or breast imaging
  • NVQ Level 3, Care Certificate or equivalent healthcare qualification
  • Strong IT skills with experience using clinical systems and patient administration systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple clinics and adapt to changing priorities in a busy environment
