About the Role

We’re looking for a Rail Surveyor to join our Digital Construction team, supporting the delivery of high quality survey data across specialist rail and highway environments. Working on projects for clients including Network Rail and London Underground, you’ll use advanced surveying technologies including laser scanning, UAV and Amberg Track Trolleys to deliver accurate, reliable data that supports critical infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Survey Leads, Project Managers and delivery teams, you’ll take ownership of assigned project elements, ensuring survey outputs meet technical specifications, safety requirements and client expectations.

This role would suit someone with experience in rail surveying or infrastructure projects, who enjoys working with advanced survey technologies and is looking to further develop their technical expertise while contributing to some of the UK’s most exciting transport projects.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver surveying and technical aspects of rail and highway projects, ensuring compliance with quality and health & safety standards
  • Work with Lead Surveyors and Project Managers to identify appropriate technologies and efficient survey methodologies
  • Capture, manage and process survey data from initial collection through to final client delivery
  • Ensure survey outputs are accurate, high quality and delivered in a client-ready format
  • Support project planning, logistics and communication across internal teams, clients and subcontractors
  • Monitor project progress and proactively report updates to ensure deadlines and budgets are achieved
  • Use advanced surveying technologies including laser scanning, UAV and Amberg Track Trolleys
  • Support and mentor junior surveyors, helping develop technical skills and site experience

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years’ surveying experience, ideally within a rail or infrastructure environment
  • Experience with traditional survey techniques and survey data processing
  • A relevant qualification in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of surveying technologies and software, with experience using N4ce, Cyclone and AutoCAD advantageous
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK manual driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites nationwide
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including occasional night and weekend shifts when required
  • CSCS card required; PTS and LU-WSSI desirable
