Job Title: Rail Systems Engineer

Location: Remote Working – Occasional on-site required in Derby

Role Type: Contract – OUTSIDE IR35

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £45.00 Per Hour

Our client, an established engineering consultancy, require an experienced Rail Systems Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team working on complex rail systems.

Candidates would need to be based in the UK and have the existing right to work in the UK.

What the role of the Rail Systems Engineer entails:

We are looking for a senior engineer to lead the mechanical integration of all train systems into a fully coordinated 3D model, supported by the associated installation drawings for one of our Rolling stock / Rail Transport projects.

  • The role would act as the focal point for integrating inputs from the various system engineering disciplines, coordinating activity across a multidisciplinary group of around 30 people.
  • Individual would also interface closely with a third-party client team in Italy responsible for detailed modelling and drawing production.

What experience you need to be the successful Rail Systems Engineer:

  • Hands-on experience in the design of mechanical systems in the rail sector
  • Experience in handling the engineering data using CREO and GPLM PLM
  • Experience in rail / rolling stock mechanical systems
  • Good experience in working with cross functional teams and Integration engineering teams
  • Ability to identify the root cause of the errors and issue resolution experience
