Over 3,500 staff work at Sonic Healthcare UK, primarily under the TDL or HSL banner.

With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.
About The Role
Job Title: Rapid Response Laboratory Manager
Department: Laboratory Management
Location: 60 Whitfield Street, London, W1T 4EU
Contract /Hours: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary range: Up to £83,362 per annum DOE inclusive of regional pay allowance

Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and capable manager at the Rapid Response Laboratory (RRL) at the our 60 Whitfield Street site, supporting UCLH and RNOH Trusts. Leading a large team of staff and working closely with the Clinical staff, you will be responsible for provision of clinical diagnostic services to two Trusts in the London area, together with a wide range of customers and general practitioners. The RRL Manager is a very important position within Health Services Laboratories (HSL), and we are looking to appoint an innovative, hardworking, and committed individual who is keen to work with the wider team to embed an improvement culture, support and develop our services.
The UCLH RRL service at 60 Whitfield Steet site includes Specimen Reception, Haematology, Biochemistry, Haemostasis, Blood Transfusion, POCT and satellite labs at the Trust sites. RNOH site although a much smaller setting, but has Specimen Reception, Haematology/Coagulation, Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion and POCT. The service provision is 24/7 for majority of the disciplines excluding POCT/NPT. The post-holder will work very closely with the Senior Operations Management of Sonic Healthcare UK, UCLH and RNOH Trusts, as well as relevant clinical staff, in all aspects of the service, focusing on managing operational performance and supporting the delivery of excellent patient care for UCLH and RNOH Trusts. The UCLH RRL is UKAS accredited against ISO 15189:2022 standards and has assays covering majority of the disciplines. Blood Sciences laboratory in the RRL is a 24/7 service and acts as a backup service for the laboratory at RNOH site. We have a strong track-record of research and development, working closely with the clinical teams. The department has approval for registration, specialist and postgraduate training, supported by our education faculty and training officers.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with enthusiasm and drive who will provide inspirational leadership. You will be fully supported in this key senior position by our quality management, human resources, and operational teams.
