Marston Associates is a General Practice Chartered Surveying firm with a specialist focus on commercial property for corporate occupiers and landlords. The organisation has developed a niche expertise in business rates and rent and lease negotiation working across a range of commercial assets.
Role Description
This full-time, initially on-site Rating, Rent Review and Lease Renewal GP Surveyor role is based in the Harrow area of London Area albeit that the work is Nationwide. The role involves undertaking rent reviews, rating appeals, and lease renewals for commercial properties, including gathering and analysing market evidence, inspecting properties, and preparing valuation reports. The surveyor will also liaise regularly with clients and internal colleagues, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and client service.

We are seeking an individual who can work independently and commercially with the ultimate long term goal of having a financial interest in the company via bonuses and/or shares/equity.

Qualifications
- Rental valuation knowledge and a basic understanding of the CCA rating process
- Professional qualifications such as MRICS or working towards RICS accreditation, with experience in general practice surveying or commercial property preferred
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including experience with valuation and lease analysis
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with confidence in client-facing roles
- Organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Commercially savvy
- Knowledge of UK property law, business rates, rent review mechanisms, and lease renewal processes is highly beneficial
