R&D Manager
About the role...
Head of our R&D Manager Position
With the flexibility to choose how you work, you can join our R&D team as an R&D Manager. You can choose to work at:
- Hub offices in:
- Castle Donington,
- Birmingham, or London.
- Alternatively, if you live further away, you can work from home.
Our R&D team embodies cohesion and a high-performing consultancy with 35 members. We emphasize:
- Supportiveness with colleagues sharing a commitment to lasting achievements.
- Expertise across various fields such as engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, IT, and even unusual areas like astrophysics.
The team supports IT & Software clients in multiple ways:
- Managing R&D tax incentives, Prize Box relief.
- Collaborating with advisors, including grants providers and patent attorneys.
A Day in the Life of an IT R&D Manager
The responsibilities of an IT R&D Manager include:
- Acting as a “Delivery Lead” for IT and Software claims.
- Managing and owning a portfolio of claims.
- Collaborating with senior managers and honing claims.
- Building strong client relationships to deliver outstanding services.
- Leading technical and financial aspects of R&D claims.
- Creating opportunities to empower senior team members with skills like:
- Training
- Wellbeing
- Marketing We encourage understanding the entirety of the R&D business, which builds a foundation for potential future leadership roles.

About You...
Exciting opportunities await an individual with an analytical outlook and a process-driven mindset. The role requires adept communication and relationship management, both with clients and among colleagues.
Key Skills and Experiences:
- Ideally should have experience managing R&D Incentives claims for Software/IT clients.
- Technical and financial experience desired.
- Advantageous if background is in IT/Software.
- Needs an open mind, willingness to innovate, drive, and a growth mindset.
