About The Role

We have an excellence Opportunity available for a R&D Process and Product Technologist, to improve our planet and make life delicious at Kraft Heinz.

You will be working in a high-performing team, alongside peers always striving for the next level, ready for a challenging environment with continuous exposure to external and internal senior stakeholders.

Your primary responsibilities will be leading projects enabling improved product delivery for customers and consumers through:

  • Process Efficiency
  • Value Engineering (VE)
  • Supply Chain (SC)

— all based at our Kitt Green Factory.

You’ll be an advocate for process improvement, focusing on the International/Global Business to increase line efficiency, generate value, and enhance line yield.

This role will primarily engage with the whole R&D team at Kitt Green, while also maintaining a link to the EMDM Process Team in the Netherlands.


Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, supporting, and leading product and process development and production scale-up activities to optimise the AFH product portfolio, improving:
    • Efficiency
    • Yield
    • Throughput
    • Product stability
  • Translating R&D recipes and lab/process changes into robust, food-safe manufacturing procedures by collaborating with:
    • Production
    • Quality
    • Maintenance
    • Supply Chain — to deliver measurable value, including:
      • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements
      • Scrap reduction
      • Cost savings through increased throughput
  • Building and maintaining cross-functional networks to drive Process Efficiency, Value Initiatives, and Sustainability initiatives at Kitt Green.
  • Testing and refining technologies and new processes within the Kitt Green Factory.
  • Scaling and implementing the right technologies and equipment to achieve:
    • Sustainability improvements (e.g., GHG, Energy, and Water reduction)
    • Yield and Efficiency improvements
    • Digital innovations
  • Delivering Value Engineering and Supply Chain (SC) projects align fostering compliance with:
    • Routines
    • Processes
    • Kraft Heinz’s WoW (Way of Working) methodologies
  • Actively supporting cost-saving initiatives and ensuring these initiatives are executed.
  • Facilating enabled technologies connecting to the zone productivity pipelines.

Under normal circumstances, this position is based in Kitt Green and may involve travel to Nijmegen (Netherlands) and other KHC sites.


Requirements

Hard Skills

  • Education:
    • Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Food Process Technology
  • Work Experience:
    • At least 2 years as a Process Engineer/Technologist in a food company.
  • Knowledge & Technical Competencies:
    • Functional understanding of food processing, including:
      • Foundational science
      • Ingredient functionality
      • Formulation
      • Product/process interactions
      • Nutrition/regulatory considerations
      • Food safety/microbiology and analytical testing methods
    • Technical expertise in:
      • Design of Experiments (DOE)
      • Process capability assessments
      • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
      • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
      • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) analysis
      • Process control fundamentals (including PID control)
      • Reading and understanding P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) & Flow diagrams
      • Hygienic Design
      • Thermal validation
      • Cleaning validation (CIP optimisation)
      • HACCP Principles
    • Practical knowledge of:
      • Retorting technologies
      • Mixing & Dosing systems
      • Cooking processes
      • Filling technologies
      • Homogenisation processes
      • New preservation techniques
      • Emulsification techniques
      • Pump and Fluid Transport systems
      • Heat transfer calculations
  • Language Skills:
    • Fluent in English
