We have served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a R&D Scientist to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.
Role Overview
The R&D scientist leads a small team in cell culture, protein expression, reagent and assay development in CoE Recombinant Protein Expression and Purification. He/she will support the implementation of the NPD roadmap and the development of recombinant proteins for the different value streams in collaboration with strategic customers.
Role Requirements
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Express recombinant proteins in different expression systems
- Purify proteins by chromatographic methods, IMAC, SEC
- Perform protein chemical and molecular biological methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, PCR, plasmid purification, cloning
- Use of immunological assays to check product quality such as ELISA or LFA
- Comply with the requirements of the BBI quality system
- Co-create and translate product requirements into clearly defined and scheduled development plans
- Work closely with the Product Management team to develop a go-to market strategy based on customer requirements
