Reactive Electrician

Salary: From 36,000

Location: North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30, 40 hours per week

At Saltire Facilities Management, we're looking for experienced Reactive Electricians to join our growing Electrical Department, delivering essential maintenance services across North Lanarkshire and the surrounding areas.

You'll play an important role in keeping customers' homes safe, compliant and running smoothly by carrying out high-quality reactive electrical repairs and maintenance. We aim to keep our engineers working locally wherever possible, supported by experienced planners, supervisors and office teams who help you focus on doing what you do best.

You'll be provided with a fully equipped company vehicle, specialist testing equipment, PDA and company uniform, giving you everything you need to work safely and efficiently every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out reactive electrical repairs and maintenance within occupied domestic properties
  • Diagnosing electrical faults and delivering safe, effective first-time fixes wherever possible
  • Installing, repairing and replacing electrical accessories including sockets, switches, lighting, extractor fans and smoke alarms
  • Completing electrical fault finding, inspection and testing to identify and resolve issues
  • Carrying out domestic Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), where qualified
  • Completing minor installation works, consumer unit replacements and electrical upgrades where required
  • Ensuring all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and current health and safety legislation
  • Recording completed work accurately using PDA technology
  • Delivering excellent customer service while working in customers' homes
  • Working closely with supervisors, planners and support teams to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Participating in the on-call rota (typically one day per month)

Essential

  • 18th Edition qualification
  • SJIB Grade Card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience in domestic reactive maintenance
  • Good knowledge of heating systems and smoke alarm systems

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2391 or SELECT equivalent
  • Experience completing domestic EICRs
  • Experience working within social housing or domestic maintenance environments
