Role Description:

As a Reading Tutor, you will deliver live online reading sessions for children aged 8 to 11, helping them read, understand and enjoy classic texts such as Treasure Island and Black Beauty. You will support students with vocabulary, comprehension and inference skills, building their confidence and love of reading.

Job Title: Reading Tutor

Location: Geek School Tutoring, Online

Working Hours: Mondays and Fridays, 5-7pm and Saturdays, 1-3pm (hours are negotiable)

Geek School Tutoring is an expert provider of quality educational support services. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Reading Tutor to join our team, delivering engaging online reading sessions to children aged 8-11.

Key Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in English (or currently studying towards one)
  • Excellent A-Level English grades
  • A genuine passion for reading and helping children develop a love of literature
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and lead engaging online lessons
  • Good interpersonal skills and an approachable personality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
