I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This role sits within a specialist team embedded alongside the firm's Finance practice, offering a distinctive client-focused model. Rather than working across a broad range of one-off transactions, you will become an integral part of dedicated client account teams, supporting some of the firm's most important institutional clients and developing long-term strategic relationships.

The team advises on a wide range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, property management, development and regeneration projects, corporate support and real estate aspects of finance transactions. Working alongside leading Finance lawyers and Real Estate specialists, you will gain broad commercial exposure while developing a deep understanding of your clients' businesses.

The team is also recognised for embracing legal technology and innovative ways of delivering legal services, creating a modern and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an NQ–3 PQE Real Estate Solicitor looking to develop their career within a market-leading practice while enjoying greater client contact and a more relationship-led style of working.

Working alongside leading partners and senior lawyers, you will become a key member of dedicated client account teams, advising on a broad range of commercial property matters while building trusted relationships with major clients from an early stage.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on acquisitions and disposals of commercial real estate across a range of asset classes.
  • Acting on landlord and tenant matters, including leases, licences and wider property management work.
  • Supporting development, regeneration and investment projects.
  • Advising on the property aspects of wider financing and corporate transactions.
  • Working closely with Finance colleagues on complex, multi-disciplinary matters.

The role also offers excellent flexibility and greater certainty around working patterns without compromising on the quality or complexity of the work.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with NQ–3 years' PQE.
  • Experience gained within a recognised Commercial Real Estate practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and landlord and tenant matters.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working as part of an integrated client team.
  • An interest in developing a more client-focused, relationship-driven practice.
