About The Role

As a RECE Teacher at Smarty Pants Montessori, you will be at the heart of our classrooms, guiding and inspiring children to reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

Creating a Prepared Environment: Design and maintain a classroom that supports the unique needs of each child, including crafting and organizing educational materials. Designing Engaging Activities: Plan and lead individual and group activities that promote growth in social, emotional, and academic areas. Delivering Diverse Lessons: Instruct children across various areas of the classroom, including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Culture, through engaging presentations and lessons. Promoting Independence: Encourage children to be as independent as possible, fostering self-reliance through individual work and collaborative group activities. Environmental Stewardship: Model and teach care for the environment and self, instilling a sense of responsibility and respect in children. Tailoring Learning Experiences: Customize classroom activities to meet the diverse needs of children with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Monitoring Progress: Implement individualized lessons and maintain detailed records of each child’s progress through observations and assessments. Behavior Management: Adhere to our school’s behavior management guidelines, promoting a positive and respectful classroom environment. Engaging with Families: Conduct two parent/teacher meetings annually, with additional reviews as needed, to maintain strong partnerships with families. Building Relationships: Foster cooperative and supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, contributing to a harmonious school community. Active Participation: Engage in all school events, open houses, and programs, enhancing our vibrant school culture. Providing Personal Care: Assist with diaper changing and toileting with the utmost respect and sensitivity to each child’s needs. Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure the classroom and bathrooms are clean and organized daily. Upholding Standards: Adhere strictly to company policies and safety procedures, maintaining professionalism and safety at all times. Promoting Health and Safety: Implement health and safety practices using tools such as daily observation forms, sanitary practices forms, medication forms, and environmental assessment tools. Continuing Education: Stay current with best practices through ongoing education, professional development courses, and workshops.

Education: An ECE Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Must be registered with the College of ECE or hold the designation of RECE before employment commences. Certifications: Valid First Aid and CPR certification, updated immunization, current TB screening, and a clear Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector).
