This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless transition for both the company and its customers through the receiving and release of cargo on the terminal. To provide excellent and professional customer service to all stakeholders.


Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Receiving and locating of all import and export cargo
  • Produce accurate ship lists for all export cargo, in a timely manner
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the receiving and issue processes are completed in accordance with the SOP’s
  • Releasing of all import cargo in accordance with the SOP’s
  • Processing transhipment cargo
  • Answer emails and correspondence with customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Label and locate all export and transhipment cargo in accordance with the appropriate SOP’s
  • Provide customer service to promote an efficient interface for the movement of cargo through the terminal
  • Ensure accurate interface with the terminal operating system iTOMS is carried out in accordance with receiving SOP’s
  • To carry out all duties in line with company and customer KPIs
  • Support the terminal management in all operational procedures
  • Provide excellent service to customers who deliver cargo to the berth
  • Assist in other areas of terminal activities within skills level as and when required
  • Assist in other areas of the wider business as reasonably required and within skills level

Job Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Positive attitude to work
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills
  • Good MS Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to provide full, clear, and timely information, both verbally and in writing
  • High level of work accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues, other departments, and company representatives
  • Ability to be flexible with shift start times and areas of deployment if required
  • Meeting changing priorities and business needs in a positive and flexible manner
  • Good networking and problem-solving skills
  • Achievement of results and meeting targets
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict timelines
  • Ability to understand, accept, and enjoy cultural differences
