JOB TITLE: Reception Access Control Controller

SALARY: £34,152

POSTING START DATE: 03/07/2026

POSTING END DATE: 17/07/2026

LOCATION: JLR Whitley

In this role, you're part of the driving force behind JLR’s success. Helping steer operational excellence across our corporate teams, from governance to talent – you’ll be at the epicentre of the business. Your contributions will transform our iconic brands and shape the future of modern luxury. Become part of a global business and create exceptional.

The Reception & Access Control Controller plays a key role in delivering JLR’s Modern Luxury experience by providing a seamless, welcoming service to Employees, Visitors, Customers and Partners across selected UK Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing sites. As part of CS&BP, you’ll carry out defined reception and access-control duties while maintaining an added-value approach in everything you do.

Based at Whitley, you’ll be fully mobile and flexible, supporting all Midland-based JLR sites as required. Day-to-day flexibility is essential to meet operational needs, as working hours vary across locations to ensure full coverage of Reception and Access Control services.

What To Expect

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:

  • Deliver a professional reception service by greeting employees, visitors and customers fairly and briefing them on site rules and safety
  • Manage visitor processes including bookings, ID checks, badge issuing, vehicle passes and accurate database maintenance
  • Oversee onboarding and off-boarding by issuing, programming, reviewing and deactivating ID cards in line with Access Control policy
  • Handle switchboard calls and maintain a clean, safe and compliant reception environment while adapting to changing business needs
  • Act as Fire Marshal for reception zones, supporting evacuations and serving as the first point of contact during emergencies
  • Run access control reports, maintain documentation aligned to the JLR Way and uphold strict security and data-control standards
  • Collaborate with site stakeholders as part of the Reception & Access Control team to ensure consistent service delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
