Reception and Hospitality Host (Receptionist) (based at the city offices of a leading energy company)

About the Role

Portico is looking for a polished, people-focused Reception and Hospitality Host to join our close-knit team. This is a role for someone who thrives in a busy, multi-tasking environment and takes pride in delivering a seamless, high-quality front-of-house experience.

You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and clients, providing a warm welcome while ensuring every interaction reflects Portico’s exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a professional meet and greet service for all visitors
  • Manage a suite of 16 meeting rooms, ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Handle courier deliveries, post, and general administrative tasks
  • Order and maintain stock levels across reception and office supplies
  • Manage permits and coordinate with internal teams
  • Replenish and maintain coffee machines
  • Maintain the upkeep of related back-of-house areas
  • Present food for meetings and ensure proper food handling procedures
  • Work collaboratively with on-site service providers, including hospitality partners

Hours & Salary

  • 40 hours per week, with shifts from 08:30am – 5pm (occasional 07:30am – 4pm shifts)
  • Salary: £32,000 (yearly)
  • Compensation: up to £32,000

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Experience & Qualities:

We’re looking for someone who brings confidence, positivity, and genuine customer service passion. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Previous experience in a front-facing role, ideally in front-of-house or reception
  • Comfortability working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • A strong understanding of what excellent service looks like
  • Good technology literacy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A professional, proactive demeanour and be always ready to go the extra mile
