Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a customer service focused Dental Receptionist, committed to providing high quality patient care, to join our friendly & experienced team at Shawlands Dental Care in Glasgow. The essentials : Full time hours Monday 8am- 5.30pm, Tuesday 8am-5.30pm, Wednesday 8am-7pm, Thursday 8am-5.30pm, Friday 8:00am - 5pm Competitive pay: £12.88 per hour Free parking locally Be part of our welcoming reception team - we have 4 receptionist on at any time within our highly regarded NHS & private practice As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties of this role will include but not be limited to: Greet patients warmly upon arrival Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate patient records Respond to patient enquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary, providing information about services and booking appointments Process patient registrations and handle administrative documentation efficiently and accurately Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations, including GDPR Liaise between patients and clinical staff, ensuring clear communication and smooth patient flow Handle patient payments and process invoices Manage the reception area, keeping it clean, organised and welcoming for all visitors Support the wider dental team through collaborative working and a can-do attitude Qualifications Required Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with diverse individuals - Strong organisational and time management abilities - Proficiency in IT systems, including email, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications - Competent telephone etiquette and multi-line telephone system experience - Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage competing demands efficiently - Professional presentation and demeanour Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach - Discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality Desirable Skills: - Experience with reception management software or visitor management systems - Knowledge of basic data protection and security protocols - Experience in a similar reception or administrative role - Familiarity with appointment scheduling and diary management systems Experience: - Previous experience in a reception, administrative, or customer-facing role is desirable Demonstrated experience managing busy reception environments Education: - GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience Personal Attributes: - Friendly, approachable, and empathetic nature - Organised and detail-oriented mindset - Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities - Inclusive approach to working with colleagues and visitors from diverse backgrounds - Resilient and solution-focused attitude Additional Information We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace.
