Job Description
Netherfield Dental Practice is seeking a professional, organised, and customer-focused Dental Receptionist to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Experience using the SOE Exact dental system is desirable, and applicants must be computer literate, confident in handling patient enquiries, and able to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage appointments using the SOE Exact dental system.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries.
- Triage calls appropriately, identifying urgent cases and escalating to clinicians when required.
- Liaise closely with dentists, hygienists, therapists, and other members of the clinical team.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records.
- Handle patient-facing enquiries regarding appointments, treatments, and practice services.
- Process payments, cash handling, card transactions, and reconcile daily receipts.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and messages.
- Support patients with completing forms and updating personal information.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained in accordance with GDPR and practice policies.
- Assist with administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the practice.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a patient-facing or reception role.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and use practice management software.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable manner.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Experience handling cash and card payments accurately.
- Good telephone manner and confidence in managing patient enquiries.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with clinicians.

Desirable Requirements
- Previous dental reception experience.
- Experience using the SOE Exact dental system.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and dental practice procedures.
- Experience triaging patient calls and managing urgent appointments.

- Salary dependent on experience and qualifications
- Start date August
